BEMO 2010

new items

    -     all on one page

This amalgamation has been plucked from the Bemo WebSite ; 'Neuheiten 2010' ; from information obtained

at Nuremberg 2010 ; and from information obtained directly from Bemo.

When you use the link(s) to see all models - use your bowser's 'Back' button to return here.

It can be expected that during 2010 BEMO will announce additional models; all future new items announced

during 2010 should be featured here.   Remember that some items may take up to 3yrs to appear, especially,

but not exclusively, the 'metal collection' items, and could well have mandatory pre-ordering closing dates

(if it's a 'one-off production run' offer, there is a guarantee that that will be the total manufactured, once).

Use our pre-ordering scheme - You know it makes sense.

RhB     Steam Loco

G3/4 11     “Heidi ”                 order #     1295121

When the RhB network was extended in 1902 over the valley section, four further locomotives G3/4 9~14,

with additional provision for coal storage and stoking were ordered from SLM.   Even after the electrification

of the network and the decommissioning of most of the steam locomotives, three examples kept their place

with the RhB for several more years.

In addition to the museum-housed locomotive 1 'Rhaetia ', locomotives 11 and 14 held out in Landquart and

Samedan.   Following her featuring in 1952 in the world-famous film 'Heidi ' as 'Statistin ', and called

'Heidi ' by friends of the railway, G3/4 11 ended her service with RhB in 1977.   She was sold for nostalgia

runs on the valley section of the BOB, to the model railway friends group MEFEZ.   In 1990, because of the poor

condition of the boiler, she was decommissioned and installed at the back of the Zweilutschinen depot.   In

2000 the 'Club 1889' brought 'Heidi 2000 ' back on to its main network and has operated her since 2005.   For

fire security reasons it is oil-fired so that it can be used even when there is a danger of forest fire.

A hand-made metal model of the tank engine in black livery with changed details from the previous G3/4 model.

5 pole motor with flywheel, and with slot for digital chip.

The number of models manufactured will be the number booked in advance by 1.5.2010.

The five HGe4/4 11-15, delivered in 1929/30, formed the electrical fleet of the late Visp Zermatt line

(extended to Brig).   The Rack Locomotives were 4.1m long with a maximum (adhesion) speed of 45km/h.

The bogies were used as a prototype for locomotive 16 the BVZ as well as the FO locomotives 31~37.

Of the original rack locomotive fleet, designated, due to their form as BVZ “crocodile”, number 15 is

today the only one kept ready for operation.

The models will have correct livery: Locomotive 14 with small cow-catchers;

and Locomotive 12 with the larger (current) cow-catchers.
