SNCF ' La ROCHETTE-CENPA ' Bulk Carrier - 062 3 006-8
This private wagon Type Fs is manufactured by 'Orval' . The prospectus from the 1960's shows an example with the then characteristic markings. It is registered to SNCF as 21 87 062 0 006-8. The owner's markings 'LA ROCHETTE-CENPA covers the whole of the side surface. The prospectus indicates that the wagon is intended for the transport of wood shavings and wood for the Paper making industry. Overall length between buffers: 14,000mm., wheelbase: 8,500mm. Load Capacity: 103m3 allowing a load of 40 tonnes. The wagons are equipped with Knorr type air brakes and many have also a handbrake with a 5 spoked handwheel. The access ladder is situated at one end of the wagon. Two double hinged inspection doors are placed diagonally opposite to each other. The outer chassis members are narrowed towards the buffer plates. There is a bunker between the outer chassis members giving an additional 10m3 capacity. Wagons of this type are used for the transport of wood chips, sawdust, rags and waste paper. These wagons work systematically between large sawmills, papermills and waste dumps.
