SETG Bogie Container Flat Wagon with 2 x 30' Containers - No. 455 7 826-78

Salzburger Eisenbahn Transport Gmbh - SETG - operate a daily train, the eccocargo 'Pongau', from Hüttau to their base at Salzburg-Itzling to connect with the eccocargo 'Austria' train. The 'Pongau' train is made up of seven Sgns bogie flat wagons leased from the Ahaus Alstätter Eisenbahn - AAE - each carrying two 30' Multibox-Wingliner containers and is diesel-hauled throughout. Various locos may be used - MWB V2302 or V83 or V84 of the SLB.

The new containers were developed according to the requirements of M.Kaindl Holzindustrie - flooring specialists - for combined rail and road use. The containers are conveyed to and from Hüttau station and the Lungötz factory by road, and a large fork-lift is used to transfer the containers from rail to road vehicles and back.

This is the first use of the hydraulically operated Wingliner side panels in a rail-compatible container. This system permits far quicker opening and closing of the side panels, standard end doors are also provided for versatility.

The model containers faithfully reproduce these distinctive containers with the characteristic slots in the base for the fork-lift arms. They are supplied on fine scale Klein Modellbahn Sgns bogie wagons.
