The wagon originally had relatively low flaps ( for emptying the wagon by sideways tipping) when the hinge was situated under the manipulating platform. The divided platform was firmly attached to the wagon frame. Rungs in the middle section between the reinforcing uprights of the doors served as a access ladder to the platform. |
| Modifications included strengthened doors which widened upwards with the hinge spindle extending tight under the loading opening. (Previously the undivided platform was curved where it met the movable door.) |
| The (later) additional side ladder simplified access to the platform and a new operating handle installed so that the essential covering net could be thrown more simply over the loading opening. The cross support in the middle of the load opening was removed and additional hand grips provided for safety. |
